Now and then we see that applications are launching newer updates. These applications intend to enhance the experience of the users. WhatsApp is one such application.
The developers keep in mind the newer configurations of the smartphones based on which newer application features are added. Owing to this fact, support for the older platforms tends to be dropped. So…there’s a possibility that you may not be able to use WhatsApp on that phone anymore.
WhatsApp has recently announced that Windows phones will no longer be able to access the application from their device – starting January 1, 2020. This also holds for some of the old Android and iOS devices. All the Android devices that run on Android 2.3.7 and older – wouldn’t support WhatsApp from now. Similar holds for iOS 8 and older.
However, it is highly unlikely that you might be using a Windows phone in 2019. That is because other basic applications have already withdrawn support for the operating system for a long time.
On the other hand, on average, Android users tend to change their phones every two years. That is if you had bought this phone two years ago – there is a high probability that your phone has an Android 8.0 Oreo configuration. You are far from not receiving services from WhatsApp. For you to not receive services on your iOS, you have to be using a phone in the iPhone 3 series.
So, we believe that you are already using a modern phone to be worried about this and that it would take some time for WhatsApp to drop support for your handset. However, if you think you know somebody who needs this – it’s about time the information circulates.
