Science has got ways to boost your creativity!

Creativity is not a DNA thing. Moreover, to acquire it, you need not hail from a blue-blooded family. However, if you think you are exempted from this unique trait of creativity then science has got some tricks to fire up creativity in you.

As per Dr. Roger Firestien, a creativity consultant and senior faculty member at the InternationalCenter for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State, Newyork, creativity can be instilled by implementing some science-backed strategies. These proven methods tend to awake the creative instinct in you through following simple methods:

  1. Do Some Warm-Up

Warm-up before you head for the main task. Similar to the way an athlete warms up before a heavy workout, you should also plan for some warm-up activities. This is essential to make you feel rejuvenated and all prepared for the task.

  1. Establish Connections

Creativity lies in connecting chords of unconnected things. Address your problems through distinct angles. Think differently and try to establish a connection between things. Doing this will provide you a new perspective to analyze the situation while fostering creativity.

  1. Think and filter your ideas

This is essential for exploring creative you. Doing some brainstorming and generating ideas then refining them will help you provide structure to your activities. Therefore, take time to think and select ideas that fit the best.

  1. Take a break

Find time to think. And if you get stuck, do activities that enliven up your mind. Take out some time; run, cook, walk, swim do whatever that helps you explore opportunities to think better.

  1. Capture Ideas

Often people in a creative job carry notebooks to capture ideas. This is equally beneficial for people who desire to adopt creative skills. Capturing ideas help you provide room for other ideas to pop up. It brings things out of your head so that you don’t have to worry about remembering things.

Try and test different strategies. Exploration too is an essential phase of the creative cycle.
